The actual planning of a wedding is a dream come true for a super-organized-plans-her-whole-life kind of girl like me. This may be disappointing for my maid of honour and bridesmaids, depending on how much fun they think wedding planning is, but I just can’t help but be in control of the planning and organization of this event. That’s not to say that I feel the same way about the decision making.

Lucky for me, Derek and I are equally excited about the wedding we are about to plan. Which means we are equally involved in the decision making (despite my obsession with planning).

A promise I always made myself was that I would not let our wedding take over our lives. It deserves time and attention, but if we spend all of our time planning one day what will we do afterward? So, fun and planning and excitement must come with some perspective and reality…is what I will keep telling myself as we experience these coming months.

Priorities one and two were choosing a date and venue. Derek will write on these topics.

A close third is The Dress. I was skeptical about the craze that surrounds The Dress, but now that it’s The Dress that I will wear…I get it, I really get it.
